Why Should I Get Posture Therapy?

Posture alignment therapy as taught by Egoscue Institute® is designed to eliminate chronic pain without drugs or surgery. Founded by Pete Egoscue, Posture Alignment Therapy focuses on correcting misalignments in the musculoskeletal system of the body.

The core belief behind posture alignment therapy is that pain, whether acute or chronic, commonly is the result of postural deviations. When the body works with gravity to find realignment through the exercises and postural retraining, comfort will increase and pain will decrease naturally

What is Posture Therapy ?

During Posture Therapy, photos are taken and utilized to determine what deviations are happening in your body. We are looking at the body as a whole. We take what we know about the symptoms you are feeling, your lifestyle, and injuries to help determine the dysfunctions causing your symptom or pain.

Throughout sessions we use Epete 2.0 Postural Therapy software that assists the therapist in providing a streamlined experience. In addition we find it is highly valuable to take time getting to know the client to have a better understanding of what you are experiencing.

We Offer Digital Therapy

Posture Alignment Therapy can be received anywhere in the world. Technology provides the ability to work with clients through Skype/Facetime, use of video analysis and pictures. This has proven to be a very effective alternative to in-person visits. Web-cam therapy is one-on-one specifically designed to address Randee’s client’s postural dysfunctions and compensations that are causing pain. She can go over the personalized exercise menu with you in addition to the emails from the epete posture software analysis that will be sent as a part of the sessions. These visits provide feedback in your home or office setting which allows ease of continuing the menu of e-cises at home.

After 20 years as a physical therapist, over 10,000 patients, and 30 years of studying the body - I can confidently say I have the tools to help relieve chronic pain.
And for all that I have learned, I have applied plenty of my tools to myself. I found non-traditional therapies and treatment techniques in healing myself from injuries and “over-use” type symptoms like plantar fasciitis and tendonitis.
In the last 7 years, I have shifted my work with clients from the western traditional methods to a more root cause approach. I have been able to have greater outcomes with the mysterious frustration of chronic pain. I love listening to my clients and pulling all the pieces of the health picture together - something that is so lacking in our medical system today.
From my successes with my clients, I am excited to share the pieces of the puzzle that help my clients take the steps to help end their chronic pain.

Honestly, I cannot say enough about Randee's posture class. I am a full-time faculty member at a College and have been working and teaching from home for over a year due to the pandemic. I kept myself sane walking daily until I got Achilles heel tendonitis. A friend of mine had been taking Randee's class for about a year and suggested I give it a try and I have been attending the weekly class for a few months.
First, I so enjoy the class itself. It is very accessible and yet feels like I am doing very important work on my body. I have learned a lot about the alignment of my body and have brought that understanding into my daily movement - such as consciously aligning my feet while walking. After several months, I feel more stable and sturdier and have resumed my daily walking up to 4 miles per day.
Working at a computer all day has also wreaked havoc on my neck and upper back. I have learned some very simple movements that I do throughout the day that support both my walking and my endless computer work (for example, I do a series of exercises in the shower every day!). Also, when I take breaks during the day I incorporate some of the movements I learned from Randee to alleviate some of the tension in my neck and shoulders while getting some deep relaxation. The class and movements to use everyday feel easy, strengthening and rejuvenating and I highly recommend you give it a try.

As a golfer in excellent shape and top health, I was amazed at how much of a measurable improvement I was able to make in such a brief interval of time due to the recent addition into my daily routine of The Egoscue Method and the teaching skills of Randee Engelhard.
